Rooster’s Ramblings

It is Thursday morning which for this week is our Friday. We have a three-day weekend and I can’t wait. I love my time off. Working is Ok and most of us have to do it, but having time off is so great. My wife and I plan to enjoy it as much as we can.

I know I am going to be a very happy person when I walk out of the building today at quitting time. You won’t want to be in front of me! I will get my great weekend started this afternoon and go from there.

I have much to do over the weekend. I have to do some work around the house in addition to having some fun. We are going to try and not spend a whole lot of money since we are going on a trip to New York City next month. So we need to have some cheap fun.

My garden will be a big part of my outside work this weekend. I need to do a few things to keep it going nicely. I have to sweat a bit to get my garden looking great again. I will do so. I still have tomatoes and beans making nicely. I have my flowers that are doing well also. The few herbs I have are doing good too. We are in a drought and it has taken its toll on the garden. We are hanging in there though.

I also need to write over the time off. I need to sit down and finish up the screenplay that I started months ago for the production company. I can do that and I have to. I want to finish this play up and get another one started for the people. I will do this as best as I can. I want to blog a lot also. I have so many ideas written down on small pieces of paper that I need to write about. I plan on doing so this weekend.

Of course, I will have to fire up the grill. You aren’t American if you don’t do that on the 4th of July. My wife will make some potato salad (she’s world famous for that) and make her flag cake (that’s part of her fame also).

We will do a few fun things. We are going to sit down and decide what to do. I think we can come up with some fun stuff that won’t drain our bank account.

I have to go now. I will get my morning stuff done and then head off to work. I am ready to get my day going and over with so I can come home to some real fun. More later!!

I think it’s going to be one of those Monday’s where I don’t fit in at all, anywhere. I was not ready to get up. I was not ready for the weekend to end. I am not ready for work. I am not ready for anything. But Monday is here and I have to get up and get going pretty soon. Let me say once again: I HATE MONDAY’S!!

We did have some good news yesterday though. We got some rain. It was a deluge: 0.3″. Well, that’s a deluge for us. This was enough rain to do some good. I know all my plants and my yard loved it. Maybe we will begin to get a little more rain!

I am still so sad about my Sam cat. I am also surprised by my other animal’s reactions, especially my big tuxedo cat. B.W. He is very upset. He is hanging much closer to my wife than normal. It also could be that he knows she’s sad and he’s trying to help. All of the animals keep checking the tub where Sam used to sleep for the last several months of her life. It is a sad thing to see that. It’s a sad thing to lose a baby, but she had a very long and wonderful life. I miss you Sam and I will always love you.

The weekend was great. My wife and I are really enjoying being alone once again. We have so much fun. We went out to eat several times. We did some shopping. We talked about our upcoming New York trip. We just have plenty of time to bond now. So the weekend was great and we look forward to more.

I want to write more, but I have to start my normal morning routine to get things going. I hope we get more work in this week than we have been getting in. I think things are going to pick up, but very slowly. I survived the layoffs and I really hope we don’t have to have anymore. More later!!

My wife and I a perfect weekend. But now it’s an old bad Monday and it will be time to get back to work. It will be a great day though. I did wake up this morning!! So that’s a good start.

I had written a post about Saturday and I will pick up from around the middle of the day on. My wife got a pedicure and massage and came home feeling great about it all. I went for my last round of acupuncture also. I will continue to drink the tea and all, but I will only go for the acupuncture every now and then. That’s fine with me. I feel much better.

We went out to eat at a nice local establishment, The County Line. As usual it was good and they give you enough food for about three meals. We took a little ride after our meal and just looked. We had gone to eat a little early since neither one of us had eaten lunch.

We got home around 6 and I went to bed. You read that right. I jumped in the bed. There was a purpose and reason for it. Of course, I woke up around midnight. I had fun after that all night. I went out to look at the stars several times. I listened to some late night radio. I surfed the Internet for a bit. I got out my “real” journal in which write in. I dozed on and off. It was great fun.

I got up and fed my cats around 6. Then the work began. This week is the week we have our brush and bulky items picked up. So I got in our garage and cleaned it out. I got rid of a lot of stuff that we just did not need anymore. I also got rid of the stuff that was brother-in-laws. So now the garage looks great and we can move in there! I also cut some limbs from my trees and hauled them to the road. So the yard looks a little better.

We rested for a bit and then went out to east at Krystal hamburgers. My wife’s loves those little devils. We did some shopping. That was fun as usual. We ate some roast for dinner. We sat around and talked for a bit. We snacked on some slice and bake chocolate chip cookies. Then it was time to go to bed.

So we had a great weekend with a little celebrating my wife’s raise and promotion. We did a lot of work. We got some things cleaned. We had time for each other. It was all great. Now we are here at Monday morning and it’s time to go to work. More later!!

I just love my Saturdays. Today is a grand one for the wife and I. Of course, she got a big promotion and raise so that makes the weekend all the more fun. We celebrated a little last night and we will continue to do so today and tomorrow.

I had a great night last night. It was one of those nights that I thoroughly enjoy. I am a person who can wake up a few times during the night and be fine the next day. I did that last night. I went outside several times with my dogs to just enjoy the night time. We looked at the stars with our binoculars. The night sky had a few passing clouds which I enjoy watching along with a little less than full moon and some bright stars. I really enjoy the night and watching the heavens and much on the earth.

I slept a little late this morning. I went to get he wife and I some breakfast. She gets Starbucks with a cream cheese Danish. I got several other things for us to eat over the next few days; a chocolate crossiant, several more cream cheese Danish’s, bacon and cheddar scones and ham and cheese koloaches. It is always fun to go and get my wife stuff in the morning.

The wife has a pedicure and a massage scheduled for today. She loves both of those. She can’t get enough of a pedicure I can tell you that. We will go and eat a nice meal later. That is part of our weekend celebration.

Tonight we will probably just take it easy. I think we will open up a nice bottle of wine and just enjoy our time together. We won’t talk about anything too deep or important. We’ll keep it all light and joyful and enjoy our night. That will be fun. I am sure we can find a few other things to go!!

So it has been a great Saturday so far. We still have much more day to enjoy. We will have a great time of it all.

This will be my first post on my Rooster’s Rambling blog here on WordPress. In this blog you might just see anything. Of course, being an election season politics will play a large part in my writing. I don’t particularly like to write about politics. Let’s just say I am not keen on the idea, but if you are going to be a serious writer you have to jump in head first somtimes.

I will write about a lot of other stuff. I think I am pretty well versed and can write on a lot of different subjects. I like astronomy, organic gardening, music, cooking and animals. So you will see me writing about those things a lot. I really love my animals. In these pages you will get introduced to Sam, Pierre’, Charlie and Casey, B.W. and Suzie, our present animals. There will be some commentary also on animals that have passed on. As for the other interests I have they will appear here also. I do enjoy my garden. And I never use chemicals. The stars, and heavens, in general, have always been big with me. I love to cook. If you are nice to me I will invite you over for dinner. I like to eat as well.

I just want to write. I will try to write as often as I can. I am serious about writing and I think this is the best way to write and get read. So I hope to see comments and such as I write. I want to contribute to the WordPress community and become someone who is well-read and respected on the site. Thanks for reading.
